Dbanj- Oliver Twist (Official Video)

YAY or NAY

This long awaited video has finally surfaced and well, it's not what I was expecting. It has too much going on...
While he has his G.O.O.D Music fellaz Kanye, Big Sean and co, with our fav white boy who does the azonto so well, Vujanic, I still wish it could have been reverted with the presence of Don Jazzy. Why did that have to "split"?

Anyway, check out the video which was premiered today on AfricanTVMusic:

Was it worth the wait?

Oily Summer??

...for my ladies with oily skin...

OK summer's around the corner, and the sun is already emerging with full force, even though it's spring!
Well, for those of you wondering how to keep your make-up intact when you're out in the sun, here's the deal...

Sometime last year, I came across a very wonderful product+remedy for oily skin. Came to find out that Milk of Magnesia (I'll call it MoM for short) helps control that! Yes, the very same MoM that's used for constipation! (It can also be used as an antiperspirant or to relieve dandruff.)

MoM acts as a primer for foundation and can be used as a facial mask. It works by drying up the skin **if you have dry skin, I wouldn't recommend you use this**

It DOES not heal acne however. It is highly affordable and sells from $5-$10+ depending on it's size and manufacturer. You can purchase it at your local drug store. I got my Phillips'online from Walgreens.

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)

Lately, I've been hearing of Nigerian youths in America going back to Nigeria to "serve". Well my curious mind wanted to know all about NYSC and this is what a friend of mine explained to me:

"It's a period of time where you serve your country for a year, immediately after graduation after which you get a certificate. It's important cos some companies demand it when hiring. And if you want to go into politics in future, you'll also need it." She continued by saying " NYSC starts with postings-- people are posted to different states in Nigeria where you get your 3weeks orientation done in the camps in these states. After 3weeks, you'll be attached to a government body or a private company if you get lucky to work there for the rest of the year. During this time, the government pays you, so does the place you work."

Now it all makes sense, thanks Biola...but I still don't think I'd be interested in that, especially since I've been hearing stories like road trip accidents, kidnaps/robbery (of those "abroad"), etc. However, I wish those of you planning on going all the best. Don't forget to pray ;)

MAKE JOSEPH KONY VISIBLE!

At about, I came across an Invisible Children's video on YouTube which was very touching. Let's say I cried throughout!  I wished I could do something, and  my heart melted knowing that I can't. However, I took it upon myself to learn more about this organization and the people working hard to put KONY to a stop.
No, we're not trying to make him famous in a good way ( as in a good person), but trying to put his name out there to bring him and his forces down and to a halt!

In a nutshell, he abducts kids in his hometown in Uganda, turns the boys into child soldiers, and the girls into sex slaves, makes them kill other people, as well as their parents! And what if they try to escape??? Well he beheads them!

Below is the video that brought me to tears:

Let's make KONY a household name— make it viral. Like all pages; share videos on blogs, tumblr, twitter; send as emails, texts; make phone calls, tell your friends to tell their friends...just spread the word!

May God bless and enable these people to do more. I pray that He gives them the strength and courage, and also bless their hearts. May all our efforts not be in vain (Amen).

5 Hour Energy- No crash later?

I think it all depends on your body mass and how it is taken.

I'm no stranger to this energy drink. I take them on major nights, when I need to be up to study. Otherwise, that ish is out of my reach.
Well last night as of 10pm, things didn't turn out as expected.
I had my first meal of the day (cereal) at approx 2hours before I took the shot. Guess my meal wasn't heavy enough. 10mins after taking the shot I was feeling too hyperactive, I was like "wow, it didn't waste time acting". Unknown to me, it was heading for a greater than normal effect *I guess*
Welp, after 1hour of ignoring that symptom, I started hyperventilating, felt very dizzy, heart beating way too fast (tachycardia). I reached to grab my BP monitor but thought it'd be best I get help first. Crawled outta my room  to my roommate's who called the paramedics.
My blood sugar was low, had a high respiration...and the rest is history. I was put in the van, to be transported to the hospital. An IV push was started, a nasal cannula for oxygen, connected to several electrodes, PG monitor, pulse oximeter...etc.

Bottom line is..........................................................
I am hale and hearty all thanks to God. Upon getting home the next day, I did some research and found out that some people have had heart attacks from taking this energy drink. I am just thankful that my case wasn't too complicated.

I was very frightened for my life. First time anything of such has ever happened to me. But hey, I wouldn't condemn the drink; I'd recommend you take it with caution. Take 1/2 a dose as needed and eat a full course meal!

Blue Ivy Carter

It all started when Beyonce announced her bundle of joy, singing for two at MTV's Video Music Award, first through her song "Love On Top". She said " I want you to feel the love that's growing inside me". Then by showing off her baby bump at the end of her performance, rubbing her belly. Here in this pic:

And here

We all know of the controversy that went on while she was pregnant. From the rumors of her fake baby bump to her alleged due date which changed multiple times, to...some people went to an extent by saying she was going to get the unborn baby from a surrogate mother.

Anyway, today, after the long wait for pictures of Baby Blue, it finally surfaced on twitter through Solange Knowles. This is a tumblr for Blue Ivy---> Here
