Graduation 2020

I am not sure if this post is meant to rejuvenate my blog, but as far as I’m concerned, I’ve had freer days and I will resume posting as it applies :-)
Hi guysssss!

A lot of people were not aware that I had been in graduate school since August of 2017– a part of my life I chose to keep from social media for personal reasons. I find it comical when people message me saying how they never imagined me being in school "all this while", lol, as per Instagram content. With working full-time, schooling full-time and maintaining clinical/rotation obligations, I am thankful to have remained sane enough to share this with you today.

My journey to conferring my Family Nurse Practitioner degree started many years ago, leading up to when I enrolled as an undergrad in nursing school in 2010, and to working my first nursing job in 2014. August 2017, I called Ella (who was a travel nurse at the time) to enroll in the same school as me, and within a couple weeks, our lives changed.

The YouTube channel I created didn’t take off like I’d hoped because I couldn’t spare extra time creating content. I also could not travel as much as I liked, and I subconsciously lost interest in building new relationships. It was certainly not a rosy journey, but I aligned my chakras along the way and remained thankful. I knew the program was doable; I also knew that I had to sacrifice a lot, but I had my fears.

Program Timeline: Fall 2017, Spring 2018, Summer 2018, Fall 2018, Spring 2019, Summer 2019, Fall 2019, Spring 2020.

I know this viral pandemic has caused so many limitations (that includes my graduation commencement and party). I cannot say what I want to do with my free time for now, besides studying for Boards [and maybe work on and publish old vlogs], but I am loving it!

Resurrection University “pushed” back the semester by a week to today, to allow students and teachers time to complete course/clinical work delayed during social distancing enforcement. Original commencement date was set for April 18th, 2020 (I had cleared all coursework prior).

I still work full-time at my Trauma hospital and continue to care for COVID patients. It has affected my mental health in a way-- but that is story for another day.

This journal entry of mine, in a way, will allow me revisit this post in the future, and maybe give hope to the budding nurse.
There’s no telling if I’d pursue a Doctorate in the future.

If anyone has certain questions regarding this program, please do not hesitate to send me an email.
