Dinner Outing

On Saturday I went out to my friend, Ella's birthday dinner in St Louis. It was a Brazillian restaurant and I was somewhat excited because I've never dined in one. However, on getting there, I disliked everything on the menu! Don't get me wrong...I'm a VERY picky eater even when it comes to my native food (e.g unripe plantains w/ veggies, vegetable soup, and eko/agidi).

All in all, it was a fun night! Birthday gal had a good time and after 10hours, we called it a night.

A Moody Day

...the weather that is.

It rained Friday morning. I had class. It rained again. Blah blah

A couple of my friends and I decided to go to the mall, just to get a "few" things-- Fall shopping!

Two critical items I had in mind was an ankle boot and a shawl/poncho.

Well everywhere I went either had the JC Lita-boot look-alike, or wedged booties (hate both).

I was quite disappointed, but I couldn't leave empty handed, so I did justice!

Before leaving for the mall, I took a few photos. The weather was sooooo not in my favor. The sun was gleaming in the wrong directions, wind blowing in all directions-- nothing was in my favor.
So as always, pardon the outcome!

Goddess Isis

Rihanna's new tattoo was done in honor of her late grandmother Dolly, at a London tattoo palor in Soho neighborhood last night.

She also made her BFF, Melissa get one...blindfolded!

My first real...

Well I just wanted to tell you all that I got to experience my first REAL clinical rotations. Other days have just been to observe and help out, but today I got to do some thaaangs lol.

***For those of you that care***

I started out with observing a cesarean section (c-section). It was ah-may-zing!! 

Then I was allowed to weigh the baby, take him to the nursery and  prepare him to be seen by his family and most importantly, his beautiful mother.

I bathed the newborn baby boy, took his vitals, check his blood glucose level, gave him his hepatitis B and Vit. K shot,  measured and clothed him :D

Ahhhh. I was gleaming with smiles! Everyone could tell ^_^

I also got to give another mother her flu vaccination.

Hmmm today's experience makes me wanna consider going for OB (Obstetrics).

I don't have any photos--we're not allowed to take one of course (patient privacy), however after 9 lovely hours, my car gave up on me. Thankfully a friend came to help me out!

#OOTN: Labor day weekend

My friend and I...and some more, went to a labor day weekend party. Took a break from all the studying and headed out to St.Louis to catch some fun.

I went on a photo spree only because someone offered to help with the picture taking. There's so much more from where these came from. 

Please mind my photos, they are not the greatest and that's cos I don't own a DSLR, yet. Early Christmas gift, anyone? :)
